It’s hard to believe it’s almost summer! As you can see below, there’s been a lot happening at Hungry for Music. The musical instruments keep flowing in and out of our distribution center and for that, I am truly grateful.
We are nearing 1,000 instruments distributed so far in 2024 and are behind pace for our goal of 5,000. There are a couple of distribution trips planned and we ship out a majority of donated instruments during the request period for schools in late summer and fall, so there’s hope.
You can help us reach our goal by supporting us during our annual Spring Cleaning Fundraiser. Your contribution helps us with repair and distribution costs, as well as purchasing new instruments.
Hungry for Music could not succeed with our outreach without your support. Thank you!
May you always find comfort in music,
Jeff Campbell

Hungry for Music’s Mission In Action

“Gustavo was very pleased to receive his trumpet and I am attaching the proof here! When he opened the case he was astounded at what a nice trumpet it is, as he had only previously played on more inexpensive metal trumpets - never a brass one. He said that he thought he would never be able to play one again - so was very happy!”

Thank you for distributing, Damian at Gabriel Music Society.
From teacher:
“This is Jalen Harris, grade 7. He’s my percussion section leader and is taking lessons at the MSU Music school. He went to solo & ensemble in January and received a 1 with very high marks and comments. The judge thought he was a high schooler. He’s very smart and loves music.
Thank you Damian for your support. The instruments make a big impact on these kids. Jalen was so appreciative.”

Hungry For Music is honored to have been selected as the primary giving organization by the Luthier Bench (www.luthierbench.com). The Luthier Bench is the premier online Marketplace and Knowledge Base for top-tier, hand-crafted guitars. The platform is a multi-luthier, e-commerce marketplace for buyers and collectors of premier, fretted masterpieces.
Upon launch in 2024, the founder of the Luthier Bench initiated a giving program in which a percentage of every sale on the platform will be donated to support the Hungry For Music instrument programs. The owner and founder of the Luthier Bench, Chayton Alo, stated:
"Our goal is to connect dedicated guitar builders with discerning players and collectors in search of exceptional instruments that tell a story. It is our honor to work with Jeff Campbell of Hungry For Music who has worked for decades to fulfill the musical dreams of children all over the world. We look forward to playing a small role in this important educational effort." |

Hungry for Music has already donated to six international music programs in 2024, doubling what we normally distribute. This is the latest from Gino (and family), who are bringing two dozen string, brass, and woodwind instruments to the Sunshine Orchard Learning Center, an orphanage in Northwest Thailand.

“In June, a group of dedicated music educators are on a heartfelt mission to share our love for music with the children there. We plan to introduce these children to the world of music, providing them with both instruction and the sheer joy that comes from musical expression. We believe that music can offer these children a unique form of solace, a creative outlet, and perhaps even spark a lifelong passion or career in music.”
