It took baby steps, missteps, and guided steps, but Hungry for Music is celebrating its 30th year of providing the gift of music to youth with a hunger to play.  There were times when I wasn’t sure if Hungry for Music would make it.

 

In hindsight, taking baby steps was the best approach to take. It seemed that, each time we had a growth spurt, eventually the support and funds came along to make the transition.  At times, it was a real struggle.  Those in-between times, waiting for support, were challenging and I’m very thankful for those friends who helped along the way.

Over the last several years, we have averaged over 2,500 instruments donated to individuals, schools, and after-school music programs.

   

In our 30 years, Hungry for Music has distributed over 25,000 musical instruments to all 50 states and 37 countries.  Our goal is simply to continue growing our outreach and to be known as the organization that, if a child needs an instrument, Hungry for Music can provide it.
